To the CWBS community and beyond,
Columbia Women’s Business Society stands firmly against racial injustice, racially motivated-violence, and racial discrimination of all types. We are proud to stand in solidarity with the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in support of AAPI members of our nation. The increase in violence against AAPI communities and individuals has been a critical issue since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and is completely and unequivocally a gross injustice.
The violence against the AAPI community must end, and we at CWBS will do our part in supporting the AAPI community. As students, as a pre-professional society, as women, and as residents of Harlem, we have a responsibility to stand against all racism, and stand beside our AAPI communities, amplifying their voices and the work that is being done in the name of justice. We demand justice for all AAPI people in this country and we ask that our community take this stance with us.
As the foremost undergraduate women’s business society at Columbia, we acknowledge our responsibility in actively supporting the AAPI community, particularly AAPI women in business, and in taking a stand against racism. We are committed to tangible support of AAPI women in business, and will use our entity to encourage others to do so as well.
In light of this, CWBS will be hosting an open roundtable in collaboration with other Columbia student organizations this upcoming week. More details will be shared soon. Please refer to the links below for more organizations to donate to yourself. We will be sharing resources on various ways to support the AAPI community on our social media.
The fight does not end here.
In Solidarity,
The CWBS Executive Board 2020 - 2021
